Love, A Plump Pinoy

I met Marko during a college summer retreat when we were grouped together for the games. We instantly clicked because of his very noticeable flamboyant vibe and funny antics. He was just the life of the party!

It's been several months since our last exchange of words, so I was kinda' surprised when Stacy asked me if I had already seen his message on Facebook. Curious, I immediately checked my inbox the moment I accessed my laptop. After reading his very heart-fattening message, I quickly asked permission if we could post his message in our blog, because it's so astounding how a person can FULLY GRASP AND LIVE OUT OUR ADVOCACY (not to mention this is our first love letter from a PLUMP PINOY!).

Read and be moved. :)

Hi Stacy and Danah. Remember me? Kung hindi, itago niyo na lang ako sa pangalang "unknownplumpguy". Charot! I would just like to affirm you guys and your amazing blog, The Plump Pinay. I saw your Boudoir photoshoot post and I was amazed because of three things:

1. Y'all look sickening (that's slang for "fiercer than fierce")!

2. It served as both inspiration and reminder for a lot of people to just love and be confident with whatever shape they're in, and

3. The post couldn't have come at a better time. God spoke directly to me through it.

I've been very insecure in the last month because I've been getting pressure from my friends and family to lose weight. While losing weight is definitely not a bad thing, we all know that constant peer pressure makes us all want to do things faster and more recklessly. Exhibit A: I thought of starving myself. Yes, I watch too much drama on TV. Don't you just hate TV shows for making fad diets look so cool and painless?

I didn't even last a day. Before finishing Day 1 of my "air" diet (get it?), I saw the Boudoir photoshoot post. The pictures got me teary-eyed. God made me realize through the post that I gave in to the pressure. PUH-LEASE. My weight won't define me. Besides, plus size is plus sexy! Seeing you girls work it (and you have done this a lot of times. Sickening! *snap snap*) made extremely proud to be a plump Pinoy.

So just like that, snap! Plan aborted. God is so amazing... not to mention quick! :)

So here I am jogging whenever I can in UP, exercising at home, moving around more often, taking care of my health one day at a time and at my own pace. I wonder how things would've turned out if I didn't stay up late and checked your blog out? :)

Reprezent, Plump Pinay! God bless you two, you amazing supertwins, you!

Wink and claw,
Marko. ♥

Isn't he amazing??? It was such a proud momma moment for us! Hehe :)

Marko, we're just so happy and excited for you on your new pursuit of health and body-love! :) Take it one day at a time. I believe people's best motivator is LOVE, so let go of the negative pressures that only make you want to do silly things to lose weight. We've definitely been where you were, feeling so bad about our body because of the harsh criticisms. But again, you have the choice to give in or stand your ground, and I believe you're on the right path. God is indeed great! It's such an honor to be used by Him to speak to you. Just focus on who you are in Christ, and let it be your TRUTH. :)

You are awesome, and you are bigger than your body. :) You definitely deserve better than that air-diet! Haha! :) I'm just so proud and joyful that you fully get our advocacy and the message of this blog. ♥ YOU ARE ALSO SO SICKENING, BOY!!!

P.S. I am loving the sound o' that--THE PLUMP PINOY (which you most certainly are)! :)

Plump love (with fist pump),
Danah
