Craving of the Week

The Plump Pinay isn’t afraid to try new delicacies and cuisines, hence, we’ve added a new portion to our baby blog (we’re only a few days old, people) – THE CRAVING OF THE WEEK. This addition will tackle the best dish we’ve tasted for the week, and we want you to try it as well and let us know if you think our recommendation is approvable. Also, we’d like to hear about YOUR craving of the week! :)

So last Friday, my friends and I had an interesting morning that we ended up having a very late lunch. We decided to head to Mozu, since they offer a fine dining experience for a very low cost. Also, it was right across our school (hehe) and it was a good time to munch since it was already past lunchtime (it can get really packed in there).

I really am not fond of Laing, even though my mom is addicted to it. I was fighting with myself whether or not to try it since the last time I’ve had one was years ago, and I really did not like its flavor but the picture of it on the menu was such an eye candy. My friend suddenly pointed the same picture to me and confirmed my doubts with the dish when she aired how much it looks enticingly good. It was topped with Lechong Kawali so it was a win-win for me – I can just pick out the meat when the green, leafy vegetable fails to tickle my taste buds.

Finally, I surrendered and ordered myself a plate. The service was very speedy and I got my hot meal in less than 10 minutes. After I gathered a bit of everything into one spoonful, I was delighted! The crunch of the fried pork mixed with the softness and rawness of the leaves were just heavenly!!! They served it with Mang Tomas and spicy bagoong – 2 of my favorite local sauces. The generous amount of the 2 varying viands will surely leave your appetite satisfied. Nonetheless, the eclectic goodness of the entire dish will leave you wanting more. :)
