Since we've started this blog, I have been painstakingly thinking on what to write about... And because this blog wants to focus on true Filipina beauty, I've been racking my brain out on which Filipina model would be the best exemplar for other women who embodies sexiness, confidence, and beauty--both inside and out.
Then I realized that there aren't ANY famous plus-size fashion models here in our country AT ALL. Zero. Zilch. None. Though there are famous women in the entertainment industry who are zaftig-sexy, they're very rare. Add the fact that we'd have to cancel out from that limited bunch those who I'm not too sure we could consider beautiful because their personalities are in question. Now all we have are plump role models that're countable in one hand, and we don't even know how to contact them. XD
You see ladies, plumpinay is not just all about the physical appearance. One of our goals too is to remind all of our readers that yes, looking your best is important, but what matters more is your CHARACTER. :) While beauty is the first thing that the eyes perceive, it can immediately vanish when your character reflects otherwise. Good is equivalent to beauty, and unpleasantness equals hideousness. How many times have we all encountered a stunningly gorgeous female, but then the moment we get to know her, we want to roll our eyes and say, "UH, BITCH PLEASE!" because of her repulsive actions? I'm pretty sure we've all had this experience. Remember, ethics plus a true beautiful character never go out of style.
And with that, due to the lack--or should I say stark absence--of worthy, modelesque plumpinays, I'd like to feature someone who I think is deserving...
Who else? Of course, none other than my sister-- DANAH GUTIERREZ.
People sometimes find it unbelievable that she's always joyful. ALWAYS. Even I find it absurd that she's just always in a cheerful mood, greeting everyone she encounters with a compliment (and that includes the employees in our school) and a smile. She likes brightening up the days of other people, because according to her, it brightens up her day. Oh and if you're thinking that I'm being biased here because she's my twin sister, you're totally mistaken. There are days when I want to strangle her to death (specially when she's extremely bubbly and I'm PMS-ing), and right now what I'm saying is based on pure facts alone. ;)
Danah is a strong, modest, and confident woman. She loves the body she's endowed with and above all, she loves herself. Every time she gains weight, she never whines. You'll never hear her say "UGH, I'M GETTING FAT!!!" (unlike most girls) because she says there's no one else to blame but herself whenever this happens, and she doesn't want to give off a negative aura just because she packed on a couple of pounds.
I can implicitly say that her personality is refreshing. She's gorgeous (NOTE: We're twins :P), and she holds no reservations in being her goofy self. Her love for her inner self radiates which makes her truly beautiful, both inside and out, and I think people who really know Danah will agree with me on that. She's a plumpinay indeed, and who knows, maybe she can be one of the first plus-sized models here in our country. ♥
