Fat-friendly

This isn't going to be a review. I haven't personally purchased from this online store, although I find myself visiting this multiply site from time to time, because 1)I have thought of purchasing and 2)I honestly think Cathy's courage to cater to plus-size women is amazing. Her pieces may be the basics--the ones NECESSARY in every woman's closet--yet they are all classy and stunning. Hey, it's not everyday that I get to stumble upon plus-size clothing stores online especially here in the Philippines (how I wish BIG fashion would take storm in the country SOON)! I love this store for taking risks and most of all, for catering to women who are more than a size 2.

I just absolutely take delight in that tagline!

First of all, I wanna thank Cathy for responding to my message! It really is so nice of her, to think that she's a busy bee running her own business. Not all people take the time to grant simple requests to people they don't personally know online, so I would like to appreciate her for helping us by contributing to our blog. :)

1. Why did you start a plus size clothing line for Filipinas? When and how did your business come alive? How old is ClothesLine Manila?

- MY HOMEPAGE SAYS IT ALL:

I have always been built generously, and in my previous life as a dancer it wasn't only necessary to be "small" it was a matter of life and death. For how could you be lifted and caught if your hips were bigger than what your partner's arms could enfold?

At the end of my dancing career my body and I let out a sigh-of-relief and decided to allow my body to live the way it desired.

I didn't loathe getting more "voluptuous".What I did loathe on the other hand was continuing to enjoy and have fun with fashion given the dismal fashion choices Manila shopping gave me and my XL frame. It seemed that "big only wore shapeless and dowdy" in the eyes of plus-size retailers.

Well, I felt neither. In fact I felt the exact opposite. I felt strong and sexy, daring and empowered; and on my way to finding fashionable full-figure clothing, I stumbled upon the idea of CLOTHESLINE MANILA ~ born from my desire to serve affordable, quality, fashion forward, trendy yet timeless, curve-conscious, empowering, enlightening clothing for curvy women like myself.

[My business is] ALMOST 2 YEARS OLD.

2. Are you a curvy woman yourself? If yes, did you always love your body the way it is now? Why?
- NOPE. NOT. IT TOOK A LOT OF GETTING USED TO. I WAS VERY BODY CONSCIOUS BEING A FORMER PROFESSIONAL DANCER. I DID GO THRU A PHASE WHEN I JUST WANTED TO HIDE.

3. How do you want today's women to see your clothing line?
- SIMPLY AN EFFICIENT AND RELIABLE CLOTHING PROVIDER FOR THE PLUS SIZE AND PROUD.

4. Give us your insight about the media's strong persuasion about thin being i
n.
- THE MEDIA'S VOICE COULD BE LOUD AND STRONG ONLY IF YOU CHOOSE TO HEAR "THAT" VOICE. BE HONEST TO YOURSELF, IF YOU DO NOT LIKE FEELING OR BEING AN OUTCAST LOOK INSIDE YOURSELF AND THINK, "WHO HAVE I BEEN BIASED AGAINST TO, WHO HAVE I JUDGED FOR THEIR LOOKS?" THIN OR THICK, WHAT WE PUT OUT INTO THE WORLD IS EXACTLY WHAT WE GET BACK. SO THROW OUT SOME COMPASSION. ♥

THERE'S MORE TO LOVE
What I like about this site:

They have a body-friendly album for dressing right according to one's shape. It's a simple guide yet not all stores provide this genius template with additional style tips!
Shopping body-wise can change your entire LOOK! Live by the rule: if it doesn't fit, honey, BUY A NEW ONE. ;)

There ya go, sexies! :) A new store to love. Thank you again Cathy of ClothesLine Manila for being so beautifully honest about yourself. I am sure you are doing a great job behind this fashion house. It wouldn't turn 2 years old if you weren't doing so. :) MORE POWER TO YOU!

Plump love,
Danah
