Okay, the next series of posts are going to be about past happenings in our lives, mainly because we've been busy this summer with eating out & traveling school. >;)
So last April 17, we shot an episode for Kablog, GMA's morning show for teens every Saturday. They said they were to tackle twin rivalry, so we gladly accepted their request. The night before, they asked us to prepare matching outfits & growing up photos for the interview and to put on our own make up since there will be no MUA on the set. So yeah, we said sure, no big deal.
That morning, we woke up at 6AM and gussied up since the driver from the network will be picking us up. We didn't ride with him though, since we already had a car, we just convoyed to the location for the shoot.
We taped the episode from 9AM to 12 noon and while we were at it, they interviewed us about so many things; from our blog's advocacy to our message to other twins who are experiencing what we've experienced. The whole interview really covered so much about our sisterhood and relationship.
our matching outfits
Well to be honest, we didn't get anything from this shoot. They didn't pay or feed us (well they invited us for lunch but we already had Burger King along the way since we figured out there wouldn't be food on the set). We just agreed to do this for our blog's publicity's sake. In fairness to them, they were very nice and friendly all throughout. Ok, don't get me wrong, I'm posting and sharing this experience because it could've been an opportunity for our blog to be advertised since it was part of the deal. I'm not posting this to bash the show or anything, I'm just stating what happened since a lot of people are asking what happened with the interview.
Come next Saturday, we watched the episode we were in, AND THEY ONLY SHOWED A 5 MINUTE CLIP OF US, ANSWERING 1 QUESTION OF THE INTERVIEW. Man, it was disappointing, but at the same time relieving 'cos I looked funny on TV. But seriously, I was kind of bummed they didn't even mention our blog. I mean, that's the sole reason why we pushed through with it anyway.
Oh well, I guess we'll be charging this to experience and move forward as we wait for other opportunities for our blog. I can say we still had fun, at the very least.
Love and lard,
Danah
