From our hotel at Butterfly on Pratt to Hollywood Hotel in Disneyland, I was so excited I felt my stomach do cartwheels. I was so stoked to finally visit Disneyland and meet all the characters that I had only seen on TV. I can vividly remember during childhood when Danah would pretend that she's Princess Jasmine on a carpet which in reality she was only a blanket on the floor, while I tuck my legs inside a pillowcase and feign being Ariel under the sea when actually I was just squirming ungracefully on our bed.
It's undeniable that we grew up watching The Disney Channel. We've memorized lines from The Lion King, and songs from Mulan (Shang is still our crush and he more or less set the benchmark of our future husbands. HAHAH! Oh and we still know the song "Make a Man out of You" by heart!), and kept the moral lessons and philosophies from all other movies and shows (We're legit Lizzie McGuire fans!). My twin and I being in Disneyland were like being those 7-year-old girls again--those girls who were fascinated with fairy tales and believed in magic. :)
Just dropped off our bags at the hotel...
Breakfast at the hotel's diner. :) Our mom is a pink mouse.
Off we go! To Disneyland!!!
It's a long walk from the shuttle drop-off to the main entrance, BUT FINALLY! We're here!
Checking out one of the many stores in Disneyland!
Too cute (and too expensive)!
We're helping Buzz kill the evil Zerg! Let's shoot those evil aliens!
♥
TWIN MOMENT, CAPTURED! I swear, we did not plan on doing the exact same pose! =))
The only ride that's not too "kiddie". It was fun, but expect to be extremely dizzy after, since the ride's inside "space" (which is really dark).
Asian version! We saw lots of Filipino performers! :)
The shows were the best part of our trip in Disney! :)
Hong Kong Disney Train Station
The Wet Parade!
He still doesn't look like a real boy to me. HAHAHA! Lame joke, self. Lame joke.
Mickey's driving the water train!
Lots of lovely lady lumps going on here!
Waiting for the Golden Mickeys to start!
Mickey wasn't here because he was hosting the show with Minnie. :)
Where's Mrs. Teapot?
I R GIANT! I EAT HAOZ!
It's a doll house! Very intricately made.
Yes, we didn't remove our mouse head bands the entire time we were in Disneyland! :D
I so badly wanted to act like Ross (from Friends) and take this shower curtain all the way home!
Cute toiletries!
Our messy beds.
After having dinner, we bumped into another pair of twins! :)
Day 4
Brunch at Chef Mickey!
The famous three circles forming the head of a mouse were everywhere!
I love the walls!
Check out the plate!
Danah and her towel friend. :))
Milk tea
Really yummy seafood pasta!
Delicioso steak!
The resto's entrance
Danah's excited to shop again (can you say shopaholic???)! We were waiting for the train that will take us to our first stop en route to the outlet mall: Sunny Bay!
The Disney Train! :)
Check out the handles!
Second train ride! Our last ride to Citygate Mall in Tung Chung! :)
The shopaholics are in the building!
Walt Disney
I think we've reached our maximum allowance for shopping and walking. (On our way back to Hollywood Hotel!)
We saw Goofy walking to the pool! He's so adorable! :)
Danah chillin' with her dawg B)
Either this playground was meant for midgets, or we're too big for it. I think it's the former.
In the last following photos, you will see how our mom forced us to pose wherever as she takes as many photos as she could before our bus arrived. :))
Vintage car!
I got killed.
Goodbye Hollywood Hotel!
Things I realized:
- I am so blessed to have an awesome--and most of the time crazy--family! I totally enjoyed spending time with my beautiful family in Hong Kong. The four days of shopping, food tripping, walking, and touring were just really amazing and filled with laughter and fun memories. :) I cannot wait for our future trips!
- Seeing lots of skinny girls in Hong Kong made me feel that I really am different in a good way. I was reminded that I am unique, and that's just how we are all supposed to be--UNIQUE. One of a kind. :) I felt at peace with my body because I know that there is no point in changing what I am because we are all different (AND I REALLY HATE CONFORMING!). Can you imagine if every body in the whole wide world had the same body type and features? It would be extremely BORING!
- Danah has turned into a full blown shopaholic. Just like my mom!
- I appreciate attractiveness regardless of nationality. A lot of those chinky-eyed boys were cute!
- Between my mom, my sister, and myself, I walk the fastest.
- But I take the longest time to get dressed and gussy up. (MEH.)
- Being in Disneyland has the same effect on everyone--we all get to be kids again in that place!
- We have better Italian bread here in Manila. Their focaccia bread there had the texture of banana bread and the taste of onion. :\
- Hongkies are fashionistas! Anyone can get away with wearing anything, no matter how weird or crazy it might look.
- Hong Kong doesn't sleep. Malls are open until 11pm and the streets are always full of people!
When we got to the airport our flight got delayed. From a 9pm flight it was rescheduled to 1am. Good thing our mom had extra money so we checked in the airport lounge there. They served dinner, had wifi access, workstations, and cable TV! They also had comfy rooms with showers where we dozed off to relax and pass the time. :) Too bad we were all too tired and lazy to take pictures, the place looked so swanky!
We got home at around 5am, and our arrival woke up our lola and our tito, and since we weren't sleepy yet because of our nap at the lounge, we ended up giving them their pasalubongs and telling them about our great trip in Hong Kong. :)
Keep lovin' that amazing self of yours,
Stacy
