The Plump Pinay x The Henry (Day 3)

Goodbye, room!

Danah's selfies

Hipster receptionist (Cebuanas are gorge!!!)

A resting area for the "mature ones"

and for the not-so-mature ones

Visited our friend, Mike, in his office (apparently he owns a BMW dealership store)

Checkin' out the food!

The EVP (Naks!).  Funny thing is, I never got to talk to Mike in campus (he's from UA&P too). He was always alone and seemed standoffish... But we're so happy we bumped into him in Draft and got to know him! He's not unfriendly at all. Funny and down-to-earth dude. :)

"Let's turn this into a private meeting room into a private lunch room since I can do whatever I want. I am the EVP." -Mike (LOL.
)

Good food makes me giddy-happy!

Mike knows we love a good meal! He prepared a very legit Cebuano lunch for us--with ngoyong, inihaw na manok (very different from the roasted chicken here in Manila, it's much more flavorful), inihaw na liempo, and puso!

They call this "puso" because it's shaped like a heart.

Killing time

Heading back to Manila!

It has been a couple of months since I've been to Cebu. I was there earlier this year for the massive Sinulog festival, but that trip was just all out partying, and I lived that weekend like a zombie, asleep in the morning and out and about at night. I spent my days recovering from the loud music, huge crowd, and hangover inside our hotel room, ordering food service (oo na, baduy ko na). I wasn't even able to bring myself to go out and get myself a nice plate of lechon! So I'm so glad that we've been invited by the manager of The Henry Hotel to finally see Cebu in daylight and finally enjoy authentic Cebuano food! :)

If you're visiting Cebu, The Henry is such a recommendable place. I'm pretty sure hipsters are totally for staying in this hotel (though they might act like they don't if they think it's too mainstream, because isn't that what hipsters do? LOL). The place is cool and has a very different vibe from your typical, victorian-themed hotels (do check out our posts on day 1 and day 2). The atmosphere of the entire place just screams fun, unconventional, and odd (in a good way). It's like you can just play and take pictures everywhere! (This statement is more accurate when buzzed.)

Another advantage of staying at The Henry is that it's right across Cable Car, which is I assume one of the popular places to visit in Cebu for drinks and a fun night. I saw a lot of people waiting outside as we left one night for dinner. It's also near a very cozy tapas bar called Just Wine (mentioned in previous post). The Henry also has its very own bar, called Scrapyard, located at the second floor. It's a beautiful spacious lounge perfect for chilling and talking with a bunch of friends.

Their service can still be improved. There were times when we had to follow-up for our orders due to long waits, but the staff were all friendly and nice. :)

All in all, I'd rate The Henry Hotel 3.5 stars out of 5!

LIFE DANCE: Welcome to the Circus of Life

I've always wanted to be part of our country's different festivals, and I'm so happy that I am FINALLY making it happen! SINULOG will be my first-ever festival experience, and I'm so excited! As a house music and EDM lover, I am so looking forward to raving and partying in the Queen City of the South and being one of the hundreds (if not thousands) of people who are attending Life Dance! I cannot express enough how psyched I am to actually be in Cebu--I even dreamt that I was already there last night, waiting for the epic event to start! And the moment it finally did, my mom woke me up to get ready for work. AAAAAAAAH!!! ! I guess I'm just gonna have to wait for the real thing! :)
If you'll be in Cebu for this most-awaited event, let's party together! Just send me a tweet (@anastazcia) if you'll be in Life Dance too, I'd be happy to meet all our Cebuano followers!

Bright Eyes by BrowHaus

Hello beautifuls! :)

Last week, we were invited by BrowHaus Manila to try their latest service to instantly brighten up your face--eyelash extensions! ;)

I have been encouraged (forced) by my mom many times to try getting my lashes permed or get extensions way back (the ultimate kikay-na-nanay award goes to her), but whenever I hear how fussy life will get just after applying tiny strands of hair on the edge of your eyelids, I immediately decline with a "no thanks, mom. Ayoko ng hassle."

That, plus I've had friends who had extensions applied and they end up plucking them out because it falls off just a few days after it's applied, probably due to glue used that's not strong enough. MAJOR HASSLE.

So what convinced me? Patricia's pretty peepers which were done at BrowHaus! I saw her in one event and I noticed how rounder her eyes looked. I liked it. After asking her a bunch of questions on how to care for the extensions and getting enlightened that it's not THAT meticulous, I decided to give it a go. Besides, we've been fans of BrowHaus and Strip ever since our first visit because of the awesome service and superior quality they offer to their clients! :)

What I wore
Denim dress Dorothy Perkins | Cardigan Forever 21 (of which the back part was the interesting side of the cardigan and I forget to take a photo--classic me.) Biker Boots Dorothy Perkins Bangles Forever 21

Inside BrowHaus

Hairy friend

It's a funky kikay lab inside!
Here's what's inside each volt: A very comfy reclining seat, very clean space, well-sanitized tools and most of all... AWESOME CHILL OUT MUSIC TO KEEP YOU RELAXED. :)

Before actually gluing on the eyelash extensions, protective strips of tape were placed over my lower lashes so it won't stick when the glue is applied.
Note: I started using red lip liner as my base eyebrow shade and I just balance out the redness by patting on a bit of brown eyebrow powder. ;) Papanindigan ko na pagiging redhead ko! :D)

Application time: There are three styles to choose from: Natural, Cat-eye, and Barbie. I chose Barbie to brighten up my eyes and make it seem rounder. They use long, full, lashes (in clusters of 5 strands) of the same length for this style. Danah chose cat-eye which uses longer lashes at the edges of the eyes.

What to expect: The application didn't hurt at all, but it was the glue that made it sting. Not a big deal though, because the pain was tolerable. :) After sticking the lashes per cluster, the final touch was sealing in the extensions with your real lashes to make sure it will last for 2 full weeks! :) BrowHaus uses their very own super glue which they get from Singapore.

And here's the finished product! :)

My lashes looking more like me: full and thick! Hee! :) Now I don't need to apply eyeliner or mascara anymore! :) YAAAAAAY! Saves me time when it comes to doing my make-up which means more sleep for me! :D

Right when the application was done, I was advised to avoid activities that would wet my eyes like swimming, crying, etc., for the next 24 hours. To make sure that it lasts for weeks like it's suppose to, the eyelash extensions should NOT get direct contact with water. So that's the only thing I had to adjust to post-application of extensions--I don't splash water on my face directly when I wash it or when I'm in the shower. I just go around the eye area which isn't really much of a hassle. I must say that it felt a bit weird for the first few days, but eventually I got used to it. :)

Danah and I with Shayne Tiuman, BrowHaus Manila's Operations Head. :)

If you want instant drama added to your eyes, I suggest trying out the eyelash extensions of BrowHaus! :)

Oh, and one more thing! I discovered this song (one of the many that I loved) while I was inside the green volts of BrowHaus getting my peepers prettified. I am so obsessed with it! Been listening to it for 3 days straight now on loop. I'm in love with Lykke Li.

Happy listening! :)

Plump love,
Stacy

My mom even told me that she had chicken pox but apparently it was just a joke to make me all the more paranoid. :)) Super late April Fool's prank!

Anyway, here are some photos that I was able to snag from StyleBible.ph's twitter page and  Paul The PR Guy. :) Thank you so much for these awesome shots!
